This year we have decided to move the AGM so that it is within the hockey season rather than at the end when we are all thinking of other things. The Ladies and Men’s captains can still be appointed at their respective section meetings at the end of the season so no need to panic before the AGM. The meeting starts at 7pm and we would like as many of you there as possible.

Our first family quiz night to be held on Saturday 9th February at the Sports Club Swans Nest LaneFamily Quiz Night

Due to the snow and forecast freezing temperatures training for juniors and men has been cancelled .

Stratford Hockey club was well represented at the Stratford District Sports Awards 2018 on Friday evening as we had six short listed nominations. All amazing candidates and volunteers who have done so much for our club unfortunately we came away empty handed.

All six categories were very competitive with some fantastic candidates including Andrew Pozzi indoor world record holder at the hurdles. The children and teams were all worthy winners and it must have been a very difficult job to choose. It was however lovely to see so many Stratford Hockey players there raising the profile of our club – better luck next year!

Please come and support our shortlisted nominations for the Stratford sports awards details below. Tickets are £5 for guests and can be purchased in advance phone – 01789 260115 or [email protected].

Our successful shortlisted nominations are:

Sarah Davies – Coach of Year

Junior Team – Stratford Boys U10 regional finalists

Senior Sports Person – Ben Lanoe

Senior Team – Stratford Men’s First XI

Service to Sport – Matt Bell and Matt Hyatt

Volunteer – Matt Bell

We hope everyone had a fantastic New Year and are looking forward to being fit and active in 2019. We are pleased to advise Senior Training starts week commencing 7th January – times and days as before Christmas.

Many were nominated for more than one category. Well Done everyone.

This weekend the club has been brilliant in the number of teams that we have managed to get out on both Saturday and Sunday. We saw the teams helping each other, to make sure everyone got a game. We saw some of the junior boys playing in our friendly ladies 4 team and many ladies playing twice in a weekend to support our Masters O35. We also had an amazing team of U14s, improving their game with every hit of the ball. With all this going on it was so impressive to also have a fantastic Christmas Fair going on at the club. What an amazing club – thank you everyone!
