Here are our first stars! This week's coaching stars!

This week, Wednesday 10th October, the junior coaches will be awarding their first star of the week stickers to those children who they think have worked really hard in their coaching sessions and listened carefully to instructions. Some groups may award more than one and in some cases maybe all the helpers will be allowed to award their own star. Once a month however  – the coaches will give a little trophy to their star of the month. The children are free to take this trophy into school to show their friends but I am afraid it does need to be returned to your coach the following week – ready for the next month’s award. This is all made possible thanks to the Town Trust. Hopefully the children will enjoy having the chance to be “star of the month” and will spread the word to others at their schools that hockey is fun!

The team photo competition deadline has been extended. We have entries currently from the Badgers, Ladies 1s and Mens 2s. The before photo will be used to update the website and the after photo is to make us giggle!

In this month’s committee meeting items on the agenda included updates from the central committeee, outreach programme, parking triangles, vacant positions, pitch side storage, access levels to website and the formation of a junior sub committee.

League matches for all this weekend. The Ladies are all at Henley with the Ladies 1 pushing back at 1:30pm to start their campaign and the most local of local derbies follows with the Ladies 2s v Ladies 3s. After a restructuring of the Ladies Leagues the 2s and 3s have ended up playing in the same division not something that was anticipated at the end of last season! Who will you support? Hopefully both as Mother’s come up against daughters and friends play on the opposite of the pitch! Come down and cheer them all on whilst the weather is warm and there is a chance of sunshine! Good Luck ladies!

The Men’s 2s, 3s and 6s are home at Stratford School. Good luck Men! With the men’s 1s in their first league match of the season away at Stone.

Across the club this weekend we have some new members turning out for the league teams. See if you can spot them on the pitch or training or even better in the bar! Please go up and introduce yourself. See if you can track down at least 4 new members names.

Due to an Open Evening at Stratford School we have been asked to cancel our junior training for that evening due to the congestion that would be caused in the car park. We will however be back to normal on Wednesday 3rd October.

Due to a shake up in the Warwickshire Ladies league the Ladies 2s and Ladies 3s have ended up in the same Division – Division 2. Both start their league campaigns today with the Ladies 2s away at Solihul and Blossomfield and the Ladies 3s at Stratford High School with a 11am pushback against Leamington. Please come and support if you are around. The Ladies 1s follow with a pre season friendly against Worcester.

We would love to have some more up to date and interesting photosmail. on our website. We would like each team probably before their first league game (friendly in case of Ladies 4s) and tournament for kids to do a before game serious and an after game not so serious photo. Can you please send them through so we can update the website and put some of Face Book. Please check with U18 they are okay with photo going on social media although we will not be adding any names.

Prize of a bag of Jelly Babies for the most original pair of photos. Please send through to Anne Tubb on [email protected].

A number of invitations have been sent to Junior players inviting them to attend the Academy sessions from this week Thursday 13th September 7-8pm at the Stratford School, Alcester Rd. Attendees will be reviewed throughout the season. Please check your emails from the Hockey Club.
