If you missed registration or are new to the club please come down to junior training on Wednesday 12th September. Our junior co-ordinator Janice will be there with registration forms for you to complete. On the night we can only take cash or cheques but you can pay electronically and details are provided on the registration form. Look forward to seeing you at training with gum shields, shin pads and a drink!

In both the Tescos in Banbury Rd and the Maybird you may have noticed that Stratford Hockey Club is one of the choices for your Blue Tokens. When you shop please remember to ask for your blue token and help support your club with no extra expense for yourselves. This money will help us support our hockey delivery to our local schools.

A fun day was had by members, old and new, from the U10s team up to the Men’s Masters teams at Stratford. From 11am to 15:30pm games were played on the newly relaid astro pitch at Stratford School. Afterwards the teams went back to the club house at the Sports Centre Swans Nest Lane where they enjoyed a BBQ and eagerly anticipated the results of the Bake Off! Thanks to all those who entered and congratulations to the winners: Archie, Katie, Andy and Emily and the judges Oli and Bugsy.

On Saturday 8th September Stratford Hockey Club is having a StratFest! HockeyFest! at Stratford School. This is to celebrate the start of the season and the launch of our newly relaid astro turf pitch which looks amazing! The timetable of games is as follows:

11:00 – 12:00 – Mixed Masters

12:10 – 13:00 – U10 and U12

13:10 – 14:10 – Club Mixed Game

14:20 – 15:20 – U14 Juniors

15:30 – 16:30 – 1st XI mixed game

Please feel free to turn up with stick, gum shield and shin pads and I am sure we will be able to get you a game in one of these matches. BBQ to follow at the Sports Club – Swan’s Nest Lane along with Bake Off competition for Adults and Kids.

Stratford ladies bring home the silverware in the Blockley tournament, beating Bretforton in the semi’s, before thumping Camden in the final!

Stratford summer league men’s 1st X1 were crowned divisional champions under the guidance of C Mckee, sporting an 8-2 record and retaining there title from the 2015 whilst selecting and playing a mixture of teenagers and veterans.

Stratford will now play in the divisional finals on the 24/08/16 in Edgbaston.

A big thankyou to Craig for organising, all who played and most importantly the umpires, who without there is no game, a special mention to Matt Hyatt for tirelessly collecting stray balls. 

Welcome back to all those Junior members who braved the slightly colder weather on Wednesday 6th Januaryn and took part in the club’s first training session of 2016!

Stratford U10s won at Edgbaston on Sunday without conceding a single goal. Victories against Hampton-in-Arden, Edgbaston and Coventry and North Warwick came in quick succession to leave the U10s unasaillable victors.

This feat was very nearly repeated by the U12s who came back from 1-0 down against Coventry to draw 1-1 after beating Hampton and Edgbaston without conceding. They were pipped to the post by Cov on the narrowest of goal difference to be awarded second place.

These were fantastic results against strong opposition so well done to all who played and, as ever, thanks to the parents for their support.
