A great all round team effort saw a hard fought, but ultimately deserved 1-0 victory for Stratford U14 Boys against Sandbach Hockey Club. The result seeing them progress to the quarter finals of the England Hockey Tier 2 Plait competition. A tense game that was ultimately decided by two pieces of real quality at either end of the pitch. A clinical second half finish into the top left corner by Harry Spicer to give Stratford the lead, followed later in the half by a sensational save by goalkeeper Percy Poulten, deflecting a venomous drag flick onto the bar to maintain the lead and ultimately secure victory. The boys showed fantastic teamwork throughout and each player contributed to the overall win.

Coach Simon Harrison – “A good, wholesome team performance”.
