Stratford Hockey Kit can now be purchased on line via the Sportology Website.https://www.sportologyonline.com/collections/stratford-hockey-club.

We hope to add additional items over the coming months including tracksuits, beanies etc.

We are holding a sizing evening on Friday 6th December at Stratford Sports Club 5-7pm.

Sportology will also bring some branded items along that may be popular Christmas presents.

The staff and the flood defences purchased with the support of the Town Trust have done a brilliant job so far of keeping the water out of the club house. The Club House opened yesterday and we hope it will stay open with a forecast respite in the weather for a couple of days!

Calling all members – annual subs are now overdue! Please make arrangements to pay them by 31st October or you will not be available for selection for matches. The first junior social event of the calendar is on Saturday 5th October at the Sports Club. Tickets cost £5 and include a choice of food. Children in years 2-6 join 6-7:30pm and years 7 -9 party from 8-9:30pm. Contact [email protected].

It is hockey club registration evening on Friday 6th September 6 – 8:30pm at Stratford Sports Club, Swan’s Nest Lane. Please come along to pay your subs £155 for senior members (25+), £100 for youth members (13+ – 25), £75 for junior members (U13), £55 for U8 members. Most of you will also be able to collect your parking fobs for the new season. The bar will be open, as will the kitchen, so come along and start the season as the we mean to go on – socially !!

We are trying a pre-loved stall for the first time this year. Please bring along any pre-loved items to Men’s or Ladies training this week and hand to Anne Tubb or alternatively bring along to the Sports Club before 6:30pm on Friday.

Preparations are well under way for the start of the season. Training is due to start for all teams in a couple of weeks and the registration evening is on Friday 6th September at the Sports Club, Swan’s Nest Lane with Club Day on Saturday 7th September – starting at Stratford School followed by a BBQ at the Sports Club.

The Men have arranged 2 club matches on Wednesday 21st and 28th August followed by squad training on 4th September and Ladies have a whole club training session on Thursday 29th August 7 – 8pm with squad training starting on September 5th.

Stratford Hockey Club is looking for coaches to lead the Men’s, Ladies and Junior section. We have placed adverts on the England Hockey website and full job descriptions are available below. If you or anyone you know may be interested please contact [email protected]. 

Stratford Hockey Club is a growing and successful club with thriving Men’s Ladies and Juniors sections. 

To support this growth, and our excellent Men’s and Ladies first teams, we require team and section coaches to join us on a part-time basis. 

The successful candidate(s) will need to be a good communicator able and keen to work constructively with volunteer captains and coaches to shape coaching at the club. They will be required to run midweek coaching for the first X1 squad(s) and to accompany the team on Saturdays. 

The role is a paid position and the club has further opportunities for the right candidate to coach junior and youth teams as well as supporting our outreach programme. 

A minimum Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent is essential. We are happy to consider a Player/Coach should the candidate demonstrate the relevant experience.

The role will encompass midweek training sessions and match day support. We are currently expanding our Schools offering and therefore the role has the potential to expand beyond the current brief. Remuneration will be based on candidate’s experience.

As the club grows further opportunities will arise across both adult and junior hockey.

On Tuesday 25th June Stratford Hockey club hosted a Primary Schools Hockey tournament at Stratford Schoo, thanks to the support of the Town Trust. We had 5 schools competing in the Upper KS2 competition and 4 teams in the Lower KS2. 

What an amazing ending to a fantastic season at Stratford Hockey Club with our promoted Men’s 1s being crowned England Hockey Men’s Team of the Year 2019! A huge thank you – not just to the players, but to the coach, the families and the club as they have supported the team throughout the season.

On Saturday 6th April families gathered at the Sport Club for the Junior Awards ceremony and a “free ice cream”. Awards were given for attendence and for most improved players and player of the season from all age groups from U8s to U14s. The Badgers also had awards for the top scorer and the parents player.
